Can you believe we’ve not heard of Park City before this year? Park City pretty much hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics! I blame it on our tunnel vision for Whistler!
Whistler has been our annual ski-vacation destination almost annually for many years now. We probably would be headed that way again this year… until we found out about Park City!
It’s a short 2 hour flight from Seattle (SEA to SLC) and another 35-minute interstate drive from the Salt Lake City International Airport to Park City.
Fast forward to March of 2014, we took a trip down to Park City for a visit.
There are three ski resorts in the area: Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR), Deer Valley Ski Resort (skiing only) and The Canyons.
The Lowell is a ski-in, ski-out lodging at the base of PCMR. You are literally just steps away from the base of the mountains from The Lowell.
Condo at the Lowell
We stayed in a spacious condo at The Lowell.
Upon arrival, the door to the office where you’d normally check-in was actually closed. But we were provided instructions with a code that we can key in on a safe-like contraption on the wall next to the door.
After keying in our code, we were able to access an envelope with our names on it containing keys, a welcome letter and a few other logistical paperwork.
We easily located the luggage cart down the hall, got our luggages and got ourselves into our 2-bedroom condo!
We had a full gourmet kitchen, dining area, living area, washer & dryer, large bathrooms and queen beds in the bedrooms.
Everything was clean, seemed very new and comfortable.
This condo is perfect for families as well as groups traveling together.
We loved that the condo was spacious which provided room for Liam to move around (cramped spaces and high energy toddlers don’t go together well).
They had a jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom. Needless to say, we enjoyed being able to relax after a long day out and about.
Liam also loved having a large bathtub to splash in after spending a day out in the cold.
The full kitchen helps reduce dining out costs. We were able to fill our fridge with some groceries which we used to prepare simple breakfast and snacks.
For those with young children, this is also super helpful since you can then stock up on milk and other essentials that your child(ren) may need.
We’ve always believed that accommodation is key to a great vacation.
If you’re well rested and comfortable, you’ll be much happier the rest of your day which makes your vacation all that much better.
Our verdict on The Lowell: We were really impressed with the condo. Comparing it with similarly priced condos we stayed in at Whistler, the condo at The Lowell seemed much newer, cleaner and had better floor plans.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. On top of it all, its location of being just a few steps away from the base of the mountain is a big reason we will be choosing The Lowell next time we’re back at Park City!
Disclaimer: We were guests of Park City Chamber Bureau and received complimentary stay at the Lowell with no expectations of a positive review from us. As with everything we’ve shared on our blog, this review remains an honest and unbiased representation of our voice, thoughts and experience.

Very luxurious indeed! I wish I could sleep here with my wife. But unfortunately I am a lonely person now. Glad to see such pictures.

It truly is! We also learnt about the other activities that bring people to Park City the rest of the year and will be sharing that soon.
